We sold what we had thought to be our forever home back in 2021, after my MIL, Maggie, fell ill and we knew we needed to spend her waning years caring for her. #NoRegrets

So we bought a beautiful Cape home out in Plymouth, MA together with my SIL, whose husband had gone into care, and which happened to be a very short commute to our family business, Boxford Bakehouse.

Eventually, Maggie passed, and with the business getting stronger, we determined that we could ease back, fulfill our roles remotely, and return to CA, to our beloved community. #CaliforniaIsMyCountry

One of our dearest friends was out riding one morning back in Oct 2025 and saw the For Sale sign going up on a house right by theirs, and immediately knew we had to have it. #AndHereWeAre

She’s 85 years old, situated in Vaca Canyon, and she’s … cozy! … so Casita Vaca she was duly dubbed.
